Creative Direction and Design for Sui Zhen last album “Losing Linda” 2019 and singles.

"SUI ZHEN The third album from the Melbourne-based pop futurist Becky Sui Zhen is tied up in the achingly personal — her mother’s losing battle with pancreatic cancer. But it wouldn’t be Sui Zhen if she didn’t apply a high-concept framework to the universal experience of loss. Titled “Losing, Linda,” the album centers on its titular character, a digital avatar (accessible via the album’s companion website) who stores data and memories in order to preserve existence beyond death. Though heady, the album’s first single, “Perfect Place,” is perfectly danceable."

We were commissioned to create a full scope branding identity platform for Lotte Avenuel Luxury Mall in Seoul, the largest luxurious department store in Korea, located in the Lotte World Tower (Seoul's tallest building). For this vast project we worked closely with creative director, Douglas Little, to conceive and create the mall's main packaging system, signature patterns, building interior and exterior super graphics, architectural graphic interventions, print promotional system, banners and super billboards and mall's signage system amongst other things.

Ellen Berkenblit’s first film Lines Roar (2018) presents a look into her process. Concentrating on the explosive nature of Berkenblit’s line, the film features familiar motifs from her paintings and drawings: a long-nosed female, a tiger, a stiletto. Lines Roar intermingles autobiographical footage taken in both her home and studio. Also interlaced throughout the film are photographs of Berkenblit’s family and images taken by her father, who was an amateur photographer and chemist. The result is a film that combines Berkenblit’s life with her work, an intimate look at what drives the artist’s practice.

This film was commissioned by The Drawing Center and co-produced by Anton Kern Gallery.

Neoprimalism started from our instinctive need to go back to the most primal source of design that we know: the stone arranged in Megalithic, Monolithic or Totemic forms. These primitive structures are our main source of inspiration not just for their configuration but for the meaning that they contain. The interconnectivity between something as dense as a stone acquiring sublime connotations awakens our interest and makes us want to imitate, to copy our ancestors, until an deeper meaning transpires. This is a ongoing project that unveils itself as we get immersed deeper into the creative process without expectations or pre formulated ideas of what the outcome should be.

Featuring collaborators of Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, and more. The vocal and instrumental basis of each piece was recorded live in sound-specific spaces throughout the US; with the exception of a binaural delta-brainwave on the final piece, there are no electronically created sounds throughout.

INSTANT T interroge le phénomène de surinformation et son impact sur notre vie quotidienne sous la forme d’un spectacle chorégraphique insolite, qui mêle l’humour et la dérision à la profondeur du propos.

Nike SB invited us to create a global campaign for Ishod Wair's (skater of the year 2015) first Dunk Low Pro Model. We worked closely with Nike SB team to establish a visual vocabulary that can present Ishod Wair as the next skateboard legend.

We envisioned creating a graphic tool kit system in which the different elements could be combined and interchanged while maintaining the identity powerful and cohesive.  Out of this idea, we developed the concept and created a flexible brand identity platform that dinamically links a carefully selected color palette with powerful urban photos and striking minimal shapes. We also created a series of Ishod’s icons which give a playful and youthful quality to the voice of the campaign. 

The concept carries across all media and uses: advertising campaign, print materials, retail packaging, promotional merchandise, digital, social communications, signage system for retail and special events. 

As part of this campaign we also created the visual identity of Nike SB Heritage that celebrates the energy and legacy of Nike SB through the years.

Set Design and Creative Direction for New York based dance company “Accidental Movement” latest work “Raphael”

In an attempt to reveal the multilayered inner landscape of a performer, RAPHAEL presents the performance as an act of remembering, channeling, and invoking to produce the transcending instant of the “show.” Five performers explore the phenomenon of tarantism and challenge the idealized image of the performer by studying the histrionic physicality of iconic Spanish male singers that were part of Lopez’s childhood cultural references. Convinced that these idols still influence the way she conceives the body on stage, Lopez juxtaposes past personal experiences, dreams, and desires with future possibilities to unveil the piece’s collective identity.

Led by choreographer Mariangela Lopez, RAPHAEL involves the participation of 5 performers Laurel Atwell, Anna Azrieli, Mor Mendel, Mariangela Lopez and live music by Jason Grisell, set design by Mogollon NY (Monica Brand and Francisco Lopez), lighting design by Jon Harper and costumes by Christian Joy.

ALICIA KEYS X KCA

Keep a Child Alive (KCA) is a non-profit organization founded by Alicia Keys and Leigh Blake. KCA’s mission is to realize the end of AIDS for children and families by combating the physical, social and economic impacts of HIV in Africa and India.

We worked in closed collaboration with KCA’s Creative Director, Earle Sebastian and Production Designer Edu Monteagudo, to conceive the theme and develop a true 360 branding project for their 12th fundraising Black Ball event that took place at Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC.

Our project included a rethinking of the event’s voice, creating the identity system, print invitations and materials, supervising video and animation, conceiving art direction and decor of the entire gala; rigorously considering every guests touchpoint: from lobby to cocktail area to dinning area and beyond. We also designed the package for an exclusive Thienot champagne specially custom made for the Black Ball.

Restaurateur, Alexander Pincus, co-founder of multiple award-winning restaurants including Grand Banks (New York, NY), Seaworthy (New Orleans, LA) and Pilot (Brooklyn, NY), invited us as creative partners to design and create the brand of his new restaurant Island Oyster (Governors Island, NY).

This poster is a teaser of our new upcoming exhibition in 2018.

The Queen of the Night is a 360o experiential show involving performance, dinner, mixology, music and more, that currently takes place at the Paramount Hotel, NYC as a Diamond Horseshoe production.

We were invited by Douglas Little (set & scent designer for the Queen of the Night) to create a LED wallpaper that would transform from a pattern of snakes to a foliage with pomegranates. The wallpaper was placed in the powder rooms adding a dreamy tone to the backstage of the performance. In addition, we designed an alphabet of secret symbols that serve as anchor points between the graphic identity of the show and the storyline.

So a pleasant William Morris-esque floral transmutes into roiling snakes while you refresh your lip gloss. Transforming a suite of rooms backstage into intimate performance spaces..." — William L. Colorfield is an immersive installation developed by Mogollon and internationally recognized industrial designer Stephen Burks as part of a group exhibition at The Dog Miami curated by Christopher “Jillionaire” Leacock (of Major Lazer) in collaboration with Xavier Burt & Poplife.

Like a kind of reflected sky floating above the Dog’s open air courtyard, the installation imagined attracts and unifies a diverse line up of artists, musicians and designers whose thinking is indicative of a new artistic spirit; a spirit where image, space and sound come together seamlessly without unnecessary categorical divisions under an umbrella of free expression.

In colorful pop brushstrokes and graphic woven texture, Colorfield boldly defines and envelopes the visitor in mottled light during the day and a 3-dimensional veil of reflected dancehall light at night to support all of the functions of the projects diverse program.

Triadic Totems

Seven hand-painted carved solid wooden totemic-like forms reminiscent of characters from Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet produced and will be available for sale in collaboration with sustainable furniture label One For Hundred.

Damon Gorton (owner of Flatbush Farm), invited us to work closely with him and the duo at Home NYC to create the branding and voice of his new restaurant SISTERS. The process started from conceiving the name of the space to designing the logo, print materials, menus and diverse graphic patterns that were later incorporated in the architecture and decorative elements of the space.

Courtney Barnett asked us to create a backdrop animation to project during World Tour 2015/16 concerts. We worked along Barnett's team at MOM+POP Music Record label to produce a series of colorful animated pieces that could be interchanged and looped throughout the live shows. 

Katy Perry asked us to design and art direct the logos, cover and complete package of her last album Prism. We worked along Katy Perry’s team at Capitol Records to conceive this iridescent packaging concept with photos by Ryan McGinley

VisioIntoArt (VIA) is a multimedia producing company based of the Brooklyn music venue National Sawdust that “facilitates flamboyant, confounding and enticing collaborations” (NYTimes) with the most exciting emerging and established artists living today.

We were invited by VIA’s Visionary-in-Chief, Paola Prestini, to conceive and design the entire visual branding platform that links the organization diverse projects: record label releases, music festivals, concerts, events and internet presence.   

Eskers Records, Japan, asked us to create and design the cassette cover and special edition poster for Sui Zhen's Body Reset. We created the custom display typeface specially for this project.

We collaborated with innovative product designer Stephen Burks  and photographer Daniel Hakansson to design a series of posters called Hybrids. 

Initiated by Stephen, the Hybrid project is a meditation on the notion that all of the most compelling ideas, people, places and things in the future will be collaborative, composited, pluralistic and/or hybrid in origin.

The posters were exhibited at New York's Museum of Art and Design (MAD), as part of the design exhibition titled "Are you a Hybrid?" Curated by Stephen Burks, the exhibition explored in great depth the issues of cultural fusion and design.

Nike SB invited us to create the logo and global campaign for American professional skateboarder, artist, writer and musician; Stefan Janoski.  We worked closely with Nike SB team to establish a visual vocabulary that can communicate Janoski's energy and refined taste.

We were commissioned by Diesel Art Gallery in Tokyo to produce a solo show as a retrospective of our work. We titled the show "Something is about to Happen" and created a new video installation piece in collaboration with costume designer Christian Joy, jewelry designer Bijules, make-up artist Mike Potter and photographer Rinze van Brug.

The Academy The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Oscars) invited us, among a prestigious group of artists, to create an artwork for the award ceremony. The artwork was printed and projected along the red carpet, it was also utilized for promotional pieces and as video transitions during the ceremony.

Original Music Workshop (OMW), was the original name of what is now National Sawdust, a non-profit venue in Williamsburg-Brooklyn where emerging and stablished artists can share their music with serious music fans and casual listeners alike.

As OMW was starting to be realized, we were contacted by the team at BureauV to create a visual voice for the organization. We collaborated with executive and creative director, Paola Prestini, to design the branding and a series of posters to promote the concerts and fundraising events. Now, as National Sawdust, we continue to contribute as resident designers and art directors for their ongoing calendar of projects.

Refuge: Creativity for Civil Liberty

Using creativity as a catalyst, Sid Lee Collective hosted a powerful art exhibition called "Refuge." Artists from different mediums and backgrounds showcased their work to create a provocative discussion around everything immigration, the fight for equality, displacement, and protection of civil liberties.

All proceeds for this show wen to ACLU.

Spring Revolution is an annual celebration of the revolutionary power of music. 

National Sawdust (NS), an unparalleled, artist-led, non-profit venue, is a place for exploration and discovery. A place where emerging and established artists can share their music with serious music fans and casual listeners alike.

We collaborated with photo duo Ioulex to produce an original film titled A MON SEUL DESIR. The film is a series of 6 video vignettes inspired by "The Lady and the Unicorn" tapestries at Musée de Cluny in Paris, depicting the five senses and an obscure sixth sense. The series is titled "A Mon Seul Désir", after the mystical sixth tapestry.

"A Mon Seul Désir" was special prize winner at A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival (ASVOFF) which takes place every year at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Urban Decay is a modern cosmetic brand with a flair for rebellious style

We were contacted by  Wende Zomnir, chief director of Urban Decay, to rebrand the company and work on creating enduring identity elements for the brand: Logo, Icon, Typography, Tagline, Color, Product implementation, secondary fonts, Campaign applications, etc. Urban Decay has since then become one the most successful Cosmetic Brand of our times.

Renown cellist Jeffrey Zeigler asked us to conceive and design his debut album as a soloist titled "Something of Life." We invited and collaborated with photography duo Ioulex to produce the cover image of the album. 

Vagabond NYC is vintage virtual boutique, founded by Vogue and Mademoiselle alumnus Andrea Perini, that specializes in clothing and accessories from the 60s-90s. 
For this project we designed the identity and art directed a series of editorials for the web presence.

Sony Music UK asked us to art direct and design British singer FOXES' logo and "Glorious" album packaging in Standard and Deluxe format. 

Sony Music UK asked us to art direct and design the logo, debut album ("Love, Sax and Flashbacks") and first single ("Sax") for English singer/songwriter, and X Factor alumni; Fleur East.

Violinist Francesca dePasquale asked us to art direct and design her self-titled debut album. We invited and collaborated with Ioulex to photograph Francesca for this project.

Nelly Furtado invited us to refresh her logo and art direct and design her album "The Spirit Indestructible" and her single "Big Hoops." We worked with her team at Interscope Records to conceive and art direct the photo shoot for the album and to produce the album final package. 

Vogue Japan invited us to create original artwork for their "The colour of our thoughts" article, featuring work by Mogollon, Jeff Koons, Keiichi Tanaami, Miles Aldridge, Mika Ninagawa and Makoto Azuma. 

Sony Music UK asked us to design the print campaigns for SIA's most recent albums: "1,000 forms of Fear" and "This is Acting." The Campaigns were printed in numerous billboards around London and other main cities in Europe.

Matador Records asked us to design a special edition Poster for their "Matador at 21" concert at The Palms (Las Vegas), featuring: Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Pavement, Belle and Sebastian, Yo la tengo and Spoon among other bands.

Russian electropop band Tesla Boy asked us to conceive and create the logo and package for their "Modern Thrills" album package.

We created this promo piece as our original artwork mailer and it still remains as one of our most popular works.
